Window Peeping

So today, my husband is releasing his inner "Griswald".  He LOVES Christmas, and decorating the house!  He usually spends the entire day outside hanging lights and arranging yard decorations.  Normally I would take that time to pull the pin on the indoor Christmas grenade, but I have had bronchitis, and spent the time sanitizing the house.  I did put Christmas music on to help with the mood.
One song by Sugarland came on "Gold & Green".  With all of my windows and doors open, it made me think about what people see as they look in.  Sure today, they would quite literally see me, with my hair a mess (this is common as I have naturally curly/unruly hair), running around with my best friend, Bleach and second bestie Lysol.
But what do strangers actually see when they take a peek inside my life?  Do they see the busy me who is often tsk'ing and mumbling, wondering how I am going to accomplish everything on my list for the day?  Do they see the patient me, while doing my best to teach our son, or help our daughter with school?  How often do they see me praise my God who makes all of it possible, regardless of the tsk'ing and failures?
I have a family session this afternoon, with the possibility of the oldest son proposing...DURING OUR SESSION!  No pressure, photographer lady.  No pressure.  After many prayers for a successful shoot and lifting up the family in general, I am ready.  Yes, I hope the glimpses into their lives I am privileged enough to capture, turn out better than they expected.  But my new prayer for today, is that I leave them with a glimpse into my life that will spark a love for my Lord, enabling them to see a side of Him, they didn't know before.
So, whether we are releasing our inner Griswald, or creative inner "martha's", remember to do it all with salt & light.  We don't know who is peeking into our windows!
