Blizzard Warnings

Due to the fact that I live in Oklahoma, we are experiencing a blizzard. While we have had plenty of time to prepare for this, so long as we heeded the many warnings, I do believe the news casters left out a few things.
For instance, they warned that we needed to have plenty of gas in our vehicles, food in our pantries and candles or even generators for a possible power outage. However, they failed to mention that a supply of Anti-Looney pills would be needed!
Now, we have plenty of games, movies and crafts to do, but when four people and two dogs are cooped up inside for hours on end, things get a little kooky! Usually I would bundle up the children and throw them outside with detailed instructions like, "build a fort" or "have a snowball fight" or "make a snowman". Temperatures today were in the negatives due to wind chill and the little one only braved the snow for two, yes 2 minutes. My daughter and I painted each other's nails, which included painting flowers, hearts, and polka dots. I am not sure if I can play another game or paint another nail!
So, Newscasters, in the future please remind all of us mothers, who at the time are excited about the wonderful family time snow days promise, to prepare for our sanity. To stock up on long projects to occupy the bundles of energy and also on chocolate, red wine, bubble bath or what ever it is that gives us that "aaaahhhh" moment once that long awaited "bedtime" has arrived.
