Celebrate your dreams

My devotional today was on dreams and how as adults we tend to let them go.
One of the questions was, "What's one little girl dream you had, that you have already seen come true? Have you taken the time to celebrate that?"
I was reminded to look at those dreams that I have already been blessed with. Often, I overlook the most important things in my life because of the amount of work they require. I do remember as a little girl wanting to be a mommy. Well, I am! I have two amazing children! There are many other things that I have been blessed with as well. So, while I often feel I am banging my head against a wall trying to achieve the unachievable, I will focus on the fact that I have some of my dreams dancing among me every day! I will celebrate them!
I know it sounds a little funny. As mothers, we do many things for our children every day, showing them love, caring for their needs. But, do I celebrate them as my dreams that came true? Not always. I need to! Two of the biggest blessings I will ever be given, should know that they are not just my beautiful babies; they are one of my biggest dreams, come TRUE!
So, in this world of negativity, where we are told to get our heads out of the clouds and stop day dreaming, I am telling you to recall those dreams that once seemed so attainable. Celebrate those that have come true and then, dream! Do it! Dream big! And then take the scary steps to make it happen. Whose example will my children follow if I can't show them how to dream? How will they know that it's ok to take risks to become what God intended them to be! Pray about your dreams. We are very fortunate that we have God that gives us dreams and with His awesome power (and timing) he unfolds them in ways we could have never imagined!
So, as I celebrate my gifts of my dreams, I have decided to make a "dream book" with them.
This way they can be reminded of their dreams later, when the muck of life has told them they are impossible or not worth the effort. To remember that "things worth having don't come easy, and things that come easy aren't worth having".
Proverbs 13:12 ~ Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
