So I made some goo with my daughter and her friend this afternoon and they decided to start their own business. They are going to make goo and sell it to their friends for 50¢. I jumped on the opportunity to teach them about profit margins, business plans and start up fees. The two of them figured stuff out and put their money together to start their business.
I took them to buy enough "gooey" ingredients and they spent the next hour or so creating goo at the kitchen table. It opened up conversation and there were a lot of giggles!
As I was busy doing dishes and stuffing a pork tenderloin, they were getting their business underway. It was at that moment that I remembered how much I love my job as a mom. No amount of dishes, or screaming clocks could take that moment away. The excitement in their voices when they talked about paying a friend to "do their advertising" and figuring out how much they had to sell before they were a successful business was too much to handle. I had a smile on my face but felt it in my heart.
All I can say is, "Thank you, Lord for blessing me and removing the scales from my eyes so I can recognize it!"
